Positive: an adverse impact on infrastructure, biodiversity and economic sectors such as agriculture, tourism and fisheries which all contribute significantly to the livelihood of their communities.

Negative: Accelerated sea level rise is expected to result in land loss, beach erosion, damages to coastal infrastructure, degradation of coral reefs, and loss of wetlands. Agricultural production in general will be affected through higher climate variability resulting in changes in crop development and phenology, and higher incidences of crop diseases. Coastal agriculture in particular will be affected by land degradation. The impact of Climate Change in Mauritius varies from the erosion of beaches to coral bleaching and disasters such as inundation, and droughts.
